Ebay TOP SECRET

HOW TO SELL SUCCESSFULLY ON EBAY
THINK YOU KNOW YOUR WAY AROUND EBAY? Maybe you do or maybe you are missing the opportunity to maximise your profits and your chances of selling every itme you bid. Whether you are a frequent seller or an occaisional user I csn show you in 5 minutes how to INCREASE SELLING CHANCES and PROFIT. It's easy - apply some basic rules and you can influence prospective bidders in your favour in the most subtle way. Follow my tips and you will never have to lie about the condition of the item you are selling - the more honest you are the better your results will be.
THE BASICS
How many times have you been put off bidding on an item because it has a reserve on it? Setting a reserve turns buyers off. NEVER SET A RESERVE.
Start your auction off with a low bid - this creates interest and draws buyers in. The more bids you have, the more desirable an item appears. Prospective buyers can sometimes be too intimidated to be the first to bid. Seasoned ebayers may be waiting before they show their hand, hoping the seller gets a little nervous.
Keep listing times short - 7 days is long enough any longer than that bidders will get bored and buy elsewhere.
Put your item in 'FEATURED ITEMS', some buyers want to take the easy option rather than scroll through pages of listings.
THE LISTING
Clearly list all the main points of your item. Stick to the point and don't leave anything out.
Photgraphs - get this right and your item is already sold. Set the scene - for larger items take your photo against an uncluttered open space, for smaller items photgraph them individually against a clean crisp background. This means the buyer focuses on your item and nothing else. Always opt to be able to enlarge your images, buyers appreciate the chance to view before they buy and use Ebays fixing and cropping service - a little extra effort to make your item look its best attracts higher bids.
Posting your item on Ebay - sign into your account and click SELL on the home page, select ONLINE AUCTION and choose 1 (and 1 only) category for your item - increasing the number of categorys increases costs.
Item description - this is where you really sell your item. The ITEM TITLE and SUBTITLE is your opportunity to give bidders as much positive information as possible. Next enter your DESCRIPTION. EVERYTHING matters here - start by using a clear, easy to read, large type setting. Use clear short sentences and bullet points for easy reading. Be completely honest when describing your item but by clever use of CAPITALS and lower case you can maximise the positive and minimise the negative. Start and finish with good points, using capital letters, use lower case for flaws. For example if you were selling a car your ad might read like this:
POSITIVE
POSITIVE
EXCELLENT CONDITION (minor scratch by drivers door)
RELIABLE
LOW MILEAGE
POSITIVE
POSITIVE
Always end your description with this statement "THIS ITEM IS BEING SOLD WITHOUT RESERVE. THE HIGHEST BIDDER WINS. BID EARLY TO AVIOID DISAPPOINTMENT."
Why does this technique work?
You have been completely honest with the buyer about the condition of the item while minimising the impact of any flaws, leaving the buyer with a poitive image of your item.
ALWAYS FINISH WITH A STRONG POSITIVE POINT.
PAYMENT OPTIONS
PAYPAL
CASH ON COLLECTION
CLEARED CHEQUE.
These are the only acceptable options with PAYPAL giving the best PEACE OF MIND for a small fee.
APPLY THESE RULES AND YOU CAN'T GO WRONG!
GOOD LUCK
